I trust everyone had a fantastic July 4th celebration! Mine was certainly lovely and relaxing, and it was SO nice to be away from work stuff. I know I missed yesterday’s monthly mosaic post because of the holiday, so I will be delaying that until next week.
But today there is someone in particular that I would like to highlight here on the blog, because next week he will be speaking in Dallas and you all should totally come out and hear him speak! His name is Jim Davis-Hicks.
I first met Jim Davis-Hicks on the Showit Freedom tour that came to Austin last year, and I bought his ActionRunner software. I have never stopped using the software since then, and this year at WPPI I got to meet Jim again. God has really used this man in many ways to change people’s lives and it is so inspiring. I am always encouraged hearing about the things Jim is doing around the world.
So back to next week. Jim Davis-Hicks will be in town on his Thirst For More tour to speak at the monthly meeting for the Dallas Professional Photographer’s Association. Caleb and I are definitely trying to make it and we would love to meet some of you there. You will not regret it! To whet your appetite a little more as to what this is all about, I’ll steal some of the bio info from the website for you to read:
Everyone wants to make a difference in the world, few do. Our impact in this world is nothing more than the sum of our daily choices, plus the grace of God added up over time. Thirst for More: Passion.Purpose.Profit.Productivity inspires, challenges and equips photogs with the tools they need to interweave their desire to give back with their passion and businesses in a practical, profitable and highly productive way.
Jim Davis-Hicks Bio
Jim Davis-Hicks is the founder of thirst relief international, the creator of actionrunner editing software, a wedding and portrait photographer and speaker/teacher. Jim is married to his lovely bride Lara and has 4 amazing children Ashton, Brayden, Karsyn and one baking in the oven. He is passionate about thirsting for more purpose, freedom, joy and living the life you want with no regrets! Preferring adventure over safety, impact over security and obedience over regret you just never know where you might find him on a day to day. Some days it might be in the Amazon Rainforest or African Plains the next he could be RVing across America with his family meeting with and encouraging others to live their dreams. Jesus is his model and inspiration for living and beyond his titles he really prefers to simply say “I am who I am and that’s enough for me.”
If you want to know more about how to get tickets to the event, you can go to the Dallas Professional Photographer’s Association site and get them there. Leave a comment and let me know if you’re coming!
